These are a couple of new embroidery pieces that were great fun to make.
I used disolvable fabric on an embroidery frame and some small pieces of hand dyed silk.
One tip if you ever use disolvable fabric......

After you have 'disolved' the fabric, put your embroidery in water with a little bit of fabric softner in it.
The disolvable fabric can make some fabrics a bit hard, so the softener works a treat!
I beaded and embellished these pieces and they look fine in the frames.
Where the silk frayed the colour is a lovely toffee shade whilst the actual silk is a soft, blush pink.

I just can't believe how many leaves are still on the trees and it's mid Nov.... life clinging on.
Observed the two min. silence at home today as I have they day off work......so sad, so many stories of loss.
So beautiful! I love how textile art looks framed. Very special, indeed.
ReplyDeleteThank you Katie.......they do look rather nice if they sell I shall miss them :)

just having a perusal through your blog. I really love your textile pieces, especially your drawing with thread; I`ve experimented with that a couple of times too, but it`s not as good as yours! and this is lovely! I will keep an eye on what you`re doing. Happy creating! Judith, Ireland
